A New Declaration

Between Cwmbran in Wales and Bruchsal in the Republic of Germany

The town of Cwmbran is situated in the County Borough of Torfaen
in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The town of Bruchsal is situated in the federal land of
Baden-Wurttemburg in the Republic of Germany.
Cwmbran and Bruchsal were linked by an official twinning partnership in 1979.
The partnership has flourished over the past twenty five year
And has been successful, fruitful and beneficial to the two towns.

Today, on the twenty fifth anniversary of the twinning partnership
A new document will be signed to further strengthen and promote
the twinning partnership and friendship between the two towns.
The community councils of Cwmbran, Croesyceiliog and Llanyrafon
and the council of the town of Bruchsal pledge themselves to continue
the twinning partnership and to use their best endeavours to develop
and further the co-operation , friendship and understanding
between the inhabitants of both towns.
The following matters will continue to be fostered and promoted:
Cultural, civic , economic, tourism and social interests,
as well as the exchange of ideas, thoughts and information that foster
the wellbeing and prosperity of the two towns. We will also promote
the linking of schools and other youth and adult organisations
To this end we will encourage activities and provide support
With all available means so that the twinning partnership may be an
example to others and demonstrate how partnership arrangements such as this
can bring true harmony, unity and understanding to nations.
The chairmen of the community councils of Cwmbran and Croesyceiliog & Llanyrafon
and the Lord Mayor of the town of Bruchsal, as elected members of the inhabitants
of the two towns, in affirmation of their resolve of their respective councils,
hereby set their signatures on this
